General Election Day - 2011

Tom Rasmussen ran for City Council in 2003 on a simple platform: work hard for the people of Seattle and get results. Tom has lived up to this promise by running the most responsive office in the City, dubbed a "one-man citizen's service bureau" by the Seattle Weekly, and responding to the concerns of Seattle residents with action.

Tom makes helping people his true priority:

Serving Seniors. Tom is the voice for seniors on the City Council, championing policies that help seniors live in their homes with dignity, including lower utility rates and a signature program to assist low-income seniors with water payments.

Investing in Neighborhoods and Safety.
Seattle's family-friendly neighborhoods are the backbone of our city. Tom has worked hard to protect the diversity of neighborhoods by championing affordable housing policies on Council. Tom is helping lead the fight for pedestrian safety and improved police and fire in every neighborhood

Creating Jobs and Opportunity. Tom has worked to improve economic vitality downtown and in neighborhood business districts by opposing onerous tax proposals, supporting realistic transportation policies, and seeking ways to reduce red tape at City Hall.

Protecting the Vulnerable. Tom Rasmussen has always been a voice for those who deserve a helping hand. Chair of the Housing and Human Services Committee, Tom has promoted policies that help people get the help they need, and the opportunities they deserve to get back on their feet, like transitional housing, mental health services, job placement, food assistance and other effective programs that help people move forward in life.

Tom is prepared to lead Seattle forward

Seattle is poised to grow by over 100,000 people in the near future, bringing new challenges and opportunities. We need Tom Rasmussen working hard and effectively for us to protect our quality of life, our seniors and vulnerable, our dynamic downtown and strong residential neighborhoods!

Re-elect Tom Rasmussen, a thoughtful effective leader who gets results.
